Pink Eye

I somehow acquired pink eye on Thanksgiving. I was sure that Emma was in the clear, until today. Her eye was red this morning, but no drainage. And then this afternoon it got gross. Luckily, I still had my eye drops. Poor baby.

Birthday Party

Emma went to her first birthday party today. Emma had a great time. I think at her 2 year birthday I will have a birthday party for her too. It was cute seeing all the 2 years old together.

Ringlet

Isn't this the most beautiful ringlet you have ever seen?
(Ok, so maybe I am bias.)

Nap

Lately, Emma has started saying "nap" or "night night" when she is ready for bed or a nap. She is so smart to realize she is tired and wants to go to bed.

Ashes, Ashes, Down

Emma LOVES to sing Ring Around The Rosies. She will spin in a circle and say "ashes, ashes, down" and then fall down. I tried to get it on tape here but she was distracted by the TV. It is still cute seeing her laugh and play with daddy. Emma is so smart and fun! I just love spending time with her.

Manupulation

I was scolding Emma today for touching something she was told not to touch. I got down on her level and said "Emma, mama told you not to touch that." While I was speaking to her she leaned up to me and closed her eyes puckered her lips to give me a kiss. Oh, she is so manipulative! It is hard to be mad at her when she is trying to give kisses. Hmmm, she found something that works. I need to be strong! Stand up to what I was saying without breaking out in a smile or laughing. I will be strong. =)

Fun at the Park

We fed the ducks at the park today.
They must have been starving, they all crowded around us!

It was so funny! Emma saw this little dog and said,
"Cow". Heheh She thinks any black and white animal
is a cow! She seemed so confused when I told her it was a puppy.

Playing...

Playing in the Leaves

When we took the girls to the park today,
Emma thought playing in the leaves was so much fun!

Best Friends

Madeline had her Christmas pictures done today and Laura wanted Emma and Maddy to have a Christmas picture together! They are so cute, look close, they are holding hands. We were brave and decided to take a picture with the four of us. It's not so bad considering we were working with two year olds.

Cousin for Emma

Emma is going to have a little cousin! My brother and his wife are going to have a baby. I am sooooooo excited!! I can't wait until the baby is born. Here is a picture of my new little niece or nephew in utero. Look closely, it looks like the baby is holding it's hand up and flipping us off! Yeah, my brothers baby! haha Also, here is a picture of my brother surprising my mom for her birthday.

Hold You

I will ask Emma, "Do you want me to hold you?" It is so cute, if she wants to be held she will say "hold you". Although it sounds more like "olds you". I wonder when they figure out how to say "hold me"?

Christmas Pictures!

WARNING. Ok, if you want to be surprised with our Christmas picture then don't look at the pictures below! We had our family pictures done today and they turned out so great! Don't forget you can click on the picture to make it bigger.

At last!!

Kevin and I have been trying diligently to teach Emma how to say "please" and "thank you". Often time Emma will ask for something, for example milk. I will either say, "say please" or "what do you say". When I say "what do you say" she looks at me like I am the idiot. I can see it in her eyes, "hello, I just told you I wanted milk". Well, it must be working because at lunch today Emma held out her sippy cup and said "more, please". Without even being prompted to say "please". This is the first time ever! Yeah, it's working! We're teaching her manners!

Temper Tantrum

Here are some pictures of Emma having a temper tantrum. I don't get an opportunity to take pictures of her throwing a tantrum much, so I just had to take the pictures. I don't even remember what she was upset about.

Mommy and Emma

My sweet baby!

Snuggle

Emma is getting more affectionate lately. I don't know if it was because she was sick last week or what. When she got up this morning she wanted to "rockie". I was tired so I asked her if she wanted to snuggle. She repeated the word snuggle but it sounded more like "nuggle". Emma and I went to my bed and she layed still in the crock of my arm. It was the sweetest moment. She would point at my eye or nose and say what they are. She really is very smart. I often wonder if other 20 mo old speak as much as she does. It was just so sweet to lay there for about 10 min and just snuggle. I thank God for every moment like this that I have with her. I want to remember this forever!

Here is our pumpkin

Pumpkin Carving

I thought it would be fun and creative to carve a pumpkin with Emma today. Yeah I know, it's past Halloween, but it was fun anyways. Emma is so sensitive to icky things so I thought this would be good for her to play in the pumpkin goop. She helped me pick out the seeds and she touched the goop some. When we were done I put her in the sink to wash her off. She thought it was the so much fun, much more fun than carving the pumpkin!

Trick or Treat

We took Emma out to Trick or Treating tonight. We stopped at about 8 houses. Here are some pictures of Emma Trick or Treating. It was fun. We couldn't get Emma to say Trick or Treat, but we were able to get her to say "bucket", "candy", and "thank you".

Let's go Trick or Treating. I have my candy bucket ready!

My first house. Don't let me down daddy!

Hey Eddie, what do I do now?

Mmmm, what's in the bucket? Candy!

Don't put me down dad! This place is scary.

Lip, ouch!

Emma fell and hit her lip on the dinning room chair
yesterday and here is the aftermath of it! Ouch.

Halloween Party!

At emacs toddler class today they had a Halloween party. She actually wore her outfit the whole hour! She looks so cute as a pumpkin!

Pumpkin for Halloween

Pumpkin Patch

I took Emma to our local pumpkin patch today. It is so fun to watch Emma get excited about little things like pumpkins and wagon rides! Having a child really makes you appreciate the world. Emma makes me stop and take a look at the little things in the world. I just love spending time with her so much!

Look closely, Emma has some hay in her hands and she is trying to feed the hippo and zebra! She is so smart. I just don't know how she figured out that they would even eat hay, had they been real of course.

There was so much fun things for kids to do. We had a great time playing. Here are some other really cute pictures of Emma. Of course I can't seem to get her to smile at the right moment. Sometimes it seems impossible to catch her smiling at the right time.

Do you know how difficult it is to get a Emma to stick her head in a cut out and smile? Yeah, you try it with a one year old sometime and you will see.
