Mama, mama, mama, mama....

Ok, so isn't it a little early for Emma to be saying "Mama" this or "Mama" that all the time? I think she is going to drive me crazy. She will say it over and over and over and over again until I acknowledge her. Here is a example of our conversations. To make it easier what she says is in red and what I say is in black, also for ease of reading I typed correct pronunciation of what she is saying.

All day long. Will this last forever? My mom says is will change to "why". I can't wait.

Taco Bell

I was craving taco's tonight so I took Emma to Taco Bell. Here is some pictures of her eating her first taco. After about 3 bites she put it down and said "all done".

Open it now mama...

Emma wanted me to open her Christmas present now. She played with the fake food over at Maddy's the other day, so I knew I had to get her some for Christmas.

MeMa's Christmas

We went over to Mema's house for Christmas dinner. Emma of course got more toys. I am going to have to donate some of her old toys just so that I have room for all the new stuff. After she was done opening presents she said "more". Uh oh!

Merry Christmas!

Santa Clause came to visit Emma after breakfast on Christmas morning. She was so surprised to see presents under the tree when she walked around the corner. After unwrapping presents from Maddy the other day she figured out how to open presents today. Santa was very generous this year.

Christmas Lights

Emma loves the Christmas lights ever since we went looking at lights on the 5th! When we are out at night we will drive through some of the neighborhoods looking at Christmas lights. She will say "more, more" and off we are to the next house. She gets annoyed when we stop looking and actually go home. I see a family tradition starting here. I think we will all be sad after the New Year and all the lights come down.

Maddy & Emma

Maddy and Emma exchanged gifts for Christmas. Emma opened her first gift and ran off to play with it, it took great convincing to get her to open her other gifts. Emma loved the gifts we got Maddy, play food and play pots and pans. They had a great time playing with that.

Cleaning House

Emma "helped" me clean house today. She is such a great helper. It is amazing how long it actually takes me to clean the house when I have a toddler following me around and wanting to "help". Look closely at the first picture, yeah, that's Emma running away after she unrolled all the papertowels from the roll! She keeps me smiling, that's for sure.

Stocking = Socks

I put up our Christmas lights during Emma's nap today. We came down stairs after Emma woke up to see the Christmas tree. Emma was fascinated with the tree, this is what she said "lights..... noman (snowman ornaments on the tree)...... tanta (Santa ornaments on the tree)...... socks (stockings hanging off the mantle)". I just laughed! Socks, yes baby, they are socks. Kind of makes you wonder where the tradition of hanging socks from the mantle comes from. I can tell this Christmas is going to be much more fun.

Emma is so smart! I have been teaching her how to count while walking up the stairs (15 stairs to be exact) and we count while we do other things around the house. So today while we were at the UPS store mailing some packages I had given Emma a deck of cards to play with. She started counting the cards and I was repeating the numbers she was saying. I didn't really start to pay attention until she got to 5 correctly. She actually counted to 9 all by herself, and then she said 2. It was so cool! My baby is so smart.

Zoo

We took the girls to the zoo today!
(For my family up north, I bet you don't go to the zoo in December!) The weather was beautiful! This was the first time Emma has gone to the zoo. She loved it, she was so tickled to see the animals. They both had a great time.

Also, we were silly and we all crawled into the photo booth
and took pictures! It will be a great memory. (Don't forget you can click on the picture to make it bigger.) The first picture is so funny. We all look like we are looking at God! hehe

Yoda Master

After dinner tonight Emma was instant about going out somewhere. She put on my jacket and was heading towards the door. She looked like Yoda. It was so funny. Although, she was angry when I told her we couldn't actually go anywhere.

Emma calls mine and Mema's bookmark a "market". It is so clever. I thought I would just jot a note so that I can remember.

Santa

I took Emma to have her Santa picture done today.

As expected she cried, oh well, it's funny anyways.

Little girl

I just love having a little girl to dress up in cute little dresses and barrettes! She just looks so cute I want to take a bite out of her. Also, do you know how hard it is to get a 1 and a half year old to sit still and smile. Yeah, well, here are a few cute shots. The many faces of Emma.

Pink Eye

I somehow acquired pink eye on Thanksgiving. I was sure that Emma was in the clear, until today. Her eye was red this morning, but no drainage. And then this afternoon it got gross. Luckily, I still had my eye drops. Poor baby.

Birthday Party

Emma went to her first birthday party today. Emma had a great time. I think at her 2 year birthday I will have a birthday party for her too. It was cute seeing all the 2 years old together.

Ringlet

Isn't this the most beautiful ringlet you have ever seen?
(Ok, so maybe I am bias.)

Nap

Lately, Emma has started saying "nap" or "night night" when she is ready for bed or a nap. She is so smart to realize she is tired and wants to go to bed.

Ashes, Ashes, Down

Emma LOVES to sing Ring Around The Rosies. She will spin in a circle and say "ashes, ashes, down" and then fall down. I tried to get it on tape here but she was distracted by the TV. It is still cute seeing her laugh and play with daddy. Emma is so smart and fun! I just love spending time with her.

Manupulation

I was scolding Emma today for touching something she was told not to touch. I got down on her level and said "Emma, mama told you not to touch that." While I was speaking to her she leaned up to me and closed her eyes puckered her lips to give me a kiss. Oh, she is so manipulative! It is hard to be mad at her when she is trying to give kisses. Hmmm, she found something that works. I need to be strong! Stand up to what I was saying without breaking out in a smile or laughing. I will be strong. =)

Fun at the Park

We fed the ducks at the park today.
They must have been starving, they all crowded around us!


It was so funny! Emma saw this little dog and said,
"Cow". Heheh She thinks any black and white animal
is a cow! She seemed so confused when I told her it was a puppy.
