Trick or Treat

We took Emma out to Trick or Treating tonight. We stopped at about 8 houses. Here are some pictures of Emma Trick or Treating. It was fun. We couldn't get Emma to say Trick or Treat, but we were able to get her to say "bucket", "candy", and "thank you".

Let's go Trick or Treating. I have my candy bucket ready!

My first house. Don't let me down daddy!

Hey Eddie, what do I do now?

Mmmm, what's in the bucket? Candy!

Don't put me down dad! This place is scary.

Lip, ouch!

Emma fell and hit her lip on the dinning room chair
yesterday and here is the aftermath of it! Ouch.

Halloween Party!

At emacs toddler class today they had a Halloween party. She actually wore her outfit the whole hour! She looks so cute as a pumpkin!

Pumpkin for Halloween

Pumpkin Patch

I took Emma to our local pumpkin patch today. It is so fun to watch Emma get excited about little things like pumpkins and wagon rides! Having a child really makes you appreciate the world. Emma makes me stop and take a look at the little things in the world. I just love spending time with her so much!

Look closely, Emma has some hay in her hands and she is trying to feed the hippo and zebra! She is so smart. I just don't know how she figured out that they would even eat hay, had they been real of course.

There was so much fun things for kids to do. We had a great time playing. Here are some other really cute pictures of Emma. Of course I can't seem to get her to smile at the right moment. Sometimes it seems impossible to catch her smiling at the right time.

Do you know how difficult it is to get a Emma to stick her head in a cut out and smile? Yeah, you try it with a one year old sometime and you will see.

Snuggling

I just love when Emma is still enough to snuggle for a few minutes.

Sick & Crying

Sometimes I feel like such a terrible mother. Emma is sick, still has a fever, and I know she doesn't feel well. She was horribly fussy this morning but seemed to be doing better after her nap. She wanted to play and she ate dinner well. Then bed time came. She seemed to sleep well the first hour and then she woke up crying. Kevin went in and tried to settle her but all she wanted was moma and sit in the rocking chair and rock. She says "rockie, rockie, rockie"... over and over. Well, after she settled down I tried to put her in her crib to sleep. Then the crying started again. I tried everything I know to get her to settle down and finally I broke down and picked her up and rocked her some more after a few tears of my own. While we were rocking the second time she said "milk" so I took her down for some milk and crackers. Then when she was happier I had Kevin lay her down, which seemed to work better. We'll she how the rest of the night goes.

Door Stop

Emma picked up our door stop today. I told her the word "door stop" and she tried to repeat it. She said "Bee bop". It was so cute.

Strep Throat

Emma is sick. This morning she had a low grade fever of 99.6. By nap time it was up to 103.5! I had Kevin call the Pediatrician and they wanted her to come in. Well everything was checking out to be ok until the MD looked at her throat. It was red, swollen, and had puss. (Ewwww). So they gave her a shot of penicillin. I felt so bad for her. Hopefully the antibiotics will kick in soon.

Sucker

Papa and Mema let Emma have a sucker. She got to suck on it for about 2 minutes. She wasn't really happy I took it away. Oh, well.

Ouch!

Today Emma fell on the concrete, forehead first! She tripped over her favorite toy while we was walking. She scraped her forehead really bad. Of course it was the end of the world, I felt so bad. You know that had to hurt! Bummer, and I wanted to have her Halloween pictures done this week. I guess I am going to have to wait until next week. It actually looks worse in person than the pictures!

Hat?

Emma found one of my hankerchiefs. She kept pulling it off and wanting me to tie it back on. It was so cute on her.

Sprinklers, again.

I have been so adventurous today. First the State Fair, and now the sprinklers. Emma was cranky after her nap today so I thought playing in the sprinklers would be fun. She loved it, and she look so cute in her swim suit. I think after today we are going to have to pack up the swim suit, it was borderline to cold today to play in the sprinklers. We didn't stay out for long.

State Fair

Laura and I took the girls to the State Fair today. We were able to get in for a $1 and the weather was beautiful! The girls had so much fun, I think I had just as much fun if not more than they did. Emma loved the animal farm. There were even kangaroos and ostrich's. We had a blast.

New bath toy

Grandma bought her a new bath toy. Emma thinks it is so neat. She is always asking me to turn it "on". So I wind it up and she holds it in the air and watches the feet move.

Kisses and Hugs

Emma gives kisses and hugs now. It has to be the sweetest gift in the whole entire world!!! This morning when I got out of the car Emma laid her head on my shoulder and wrapped her arm around my neck. I leaned into her face with my neck and when I pulled back she pulled me in closer! It was a gift from God. I thanked Him for this brief moment. I want to remember it forever.

Aunts

My aunts came down to visit this weekend to surprise mom for her 50th birthday! It was so great to see them. Emma just loved her great aunt Cindy and Kim. I wish we all lived closer. It was so funny they did a skit in costume at my mom's office to surprise her. Unfortunately mom had actually seen the skit when my aunt Kim was in HS so she knew who it was, but it sure was funny!!! Here are some really great pictures from the weekend.

No, no, no

Emma has learned how to say "no". Sometimes it is really cute, other times, not so cute. I like it that she can tell me what she does and does not want to eat. I'll say, "Emma do you want some yogurt?" and she will say "no". That's cute, my little baby is becoming so independent. Now when I say "Emma, come on lets go (out of this room)" and she tells me "no". Then that's not so cute. I actually swatted her on the bottom the other day for telling me "no" after I repeated myself a couple of times for her to do something. I felt bad about that, I should have gotten down on her level and told her that "momma said, this is what we are going to do." Not that I don't believe in spanking, it's just that I want to use it for when she runs out into the street or something else dangerous. My baby is just growing up so quickly. I have actually changed my blog name from Life with Baby, to Life with a Toddler.

Emma's Girlfriend

Emma loves Maddy. They are best buds! She always asks for her. Any time we leave the house she thinks we are going to see Maddy and asks for her. Maddy came over to play and the girls crawled under the bathroom sink. They both thought it was the funniest thing they had ever done. Then Emma leaned over and kissed Maddy, it was so cute!
