Cooking Class

Emma's friend Katie invited her to go to a cooking class. It was a lot of fun, they made pancakes, fresh strawberry syrup, and hot cocoa. Then they got to eat it afterward!

Sweet Boy

Boy, do I sure love my little man. I love him so much sometimes my heart physically hurts. Which I'm so happy about because I didn't love him this much when he was born. How could you not love this face?

Pumpkin Picking

A local farm had a pumpkin picking event. I took the kids and Emma got to pick out pumpkin from the pumpkin patch. Did you know the pumpkin vines have itty bitty sharp little stickers on them? Well, take my word on it. Anyways, we also got to ride on the trailer pulled by the tractor. I think that was Emma's favorite part, we rode the tractor 3 times, and we probably would have done it more if I would have let her. It was fun. I love doing fun things like this. I hope Emma looks back one day and remembers how much fun we had.

This is the pumpkin we picked, pretty huh?
Look, a grey pumpkin, isn't that unusual?

Family picture (Wow, I look tired, oh yeah, I forgot we had spent about 4 hours at the park that morning with some friends)
We also got some yummy delicious hot chocolate, see our chocolate mustaches?
Tractor ride

Fresh Okra. It was a little late in the season so it was borderline edible but Emma liked it. I didn't know it grew on long stems.

Jackson had fun too!

Catching up

I'm so excited, an acquaintance of mine (my scrapbooking consultant) invited me to come to a local church twice a month to work on crafts and child care is included for free! When she suggested I come I was all over that idea. The first time I came I brought my card making supplies and made out a few cards. I noticed that another lady brought her laptop and was working on projects online. So this time I decided to bring my laptop so that I can have 3.5 hrs of uninterrupted blogging time! Now maybe I can actually get caught up! So check back frequently for new blog posts.

Baby Dedication

We had Jackson dedicated in the church. Basically it's a public statement where we tell our friends and family that we are going to raise Jackson (and Emma) to know Jesus Christ as our personal Savior. It is a very sweet event and both kids got to wear the Christening gown that Kevin's mom purchased for our nephew, Xavier, before she passed away. It's a really special outfit and moment for us. There were 4 of us that were having our baby boys dedicated. Our good friends Brian and Jessica were having their second son, Zeke, dedicated too. What a special day, the picture of Emma prayer say's it all!

Haircut #2

It's so strange. Jackson was born with enough hair to need a hair cut, although he lost most of it pretty quick, and then here we are with Emma. This is her second haircut in 3 years! Just doesn't seem right.

Jackson 1 mo Pedi appt

As we all know I'm behind on my blog. It's to be expected. I'm actually posting this blog date on the correct day it was taken so that when I print out a blog book it will be in chronological order. It is actually 11/12/09 when I wrote this blog. Yeah, I know, slacker. Actually, I'm not a slacker, it was just easier to keep up with one kid. Two kids is somehow harder, and to think, I want more kids. How does anyone keep up?

Anyways, back to the post. Here is Jackson being weighed at his 1 month appt and a picture with him and our Pediatrician, Dr. Han. You know, he is so adorable now, but he sure wasn't cute here.

Vacation

Well, it's almost time to go back to work. So what does that mean? Mini-vacation to see my best friend of course! I took the kids and drove out to Tyler to visit for a few days. It was a much needed break. I'm so glad that I have Laura in my life. She's such an amazing friend. Here she is holding my son and her 1 year old! Even John helped out. I thought this picture of Emma was so funny. She crawled into the baby doll bassinet! Looks like nap time to me. I think these pictures of Jackson are sweet, but boy, he sure isn't so cute. Look how he's lost most of his beautiful hair. He just looks like a balding old man! Ha ha. It's always great to visit friends. Sometimes I wish I could live with them forever and have them take care of me all the time.

Life's a Beach

So, have I ever told you that I don't like sand? It's just so gross. It's get's all stuck in all the wrong places. My ideal vacation would NOT be on a beach. Well, there is a place locally where you can go and eat and the kids can play in the sand. My friend, Amy, invited me to join her and her playgroup. Here's the problem, it was so hot out and I had a one month old baby. We ended up going inside and sitting in the air conditioning. I know, I'm a wimp. I just keep telling myself it's for the baby's best interest. (I find it interesting that I'm posting this blog today 1-14-10, because Emma asked me today if she could go back her and play. Funny the things she remembers).

Dinosaur Jammies

I'm gonna miss these blue dinosaur jammies and Emma's rambling songs as she get's older. I'm so glad I take pictures and videos for the most random things. It really is so wonderful to go back and look at all these and see how big she's gotten.

Pig tails

Emma sat still long enough for me to try something different with her hair. Cute huh?

Kevin Multitasking

Here Kevin is giving me a break and taking care of Jackson. Thanks Laura for loaning me the slings, we love them!
