Professional Picture

So, I received an email that said I could get 1- 8x10, 2 - 5x7's, and 8 - wallets for only $11. Wow, sounds great huh? Of course now I realize that their evil plot is to get you into the studio with your adorable 3 year old daughter and 3 week old son and take really great pictures of them so that you also want to spend $300 on ALL the images! Ok. Lesson learned. I really do love them though.

Multi-tasking

Having two children is definately harder. I still can't get anywhere on time. Here I'm checking email, holding sleeping baby, and entertaining Emma. It has gotten better, but somedays are harder than others.

Emma can read!

I've been playing with Emma in the bath tub at night to spend some extra time with her. We've been using her bath tub letters and making rhyming words. I put the letters C.A.K.E. on the tub and asked her to sound it out and she did!! I couldn't believe it. Something I'm doing is working. Wow, and it's fun too. I am considering homeschooling so if it is this easy then it will be fun.

Cousins

I'm so excited that my brother and his wife are having kids the same time that we are! I really want Emma and Jackson to be close to Kaleb and Clara. Clara was born a week after Jackson and then Kaleb turned 1 a week after that! My mom went out to visit my new little niece a few weeks after Jackson was born. Here are a few pictures.

Peace and Quite

Ahhh, a minute of silence. Sleeping babies are so sweet. Jackson is a pretty good baby, but nothing can prepare you for a new baby that wakes up to eat every three hours. I have to admit there have been a few times where I just wanted to put a pillow on his face. Don't worry, I told Kevin and my friend Laura. I never would have done anything, but I am sure glad I had some support from my friends and family. I have to admit looking back now, 5 months out, I definately love him more now than then. That sounds so aweful to say, but I do. It's amazing what some sleep and a sweet smiling 3 month old can do to your spirits. I can't even imagine not having him now, but man was the first few month hard. I feel guilty now about not loving him as much or not enjoying spending time with him. For those of my friends without children, enjoy them from the time they are born, it's just a phase and it goes by so quickly.

Game time

Kevin and I were trying to spend some time with Emma while Jackson was sleeping. I think she liked playing the games with us, or at least while she was winning!

First Smile?

Does it count as a first smile if you tickle the baby's face while they are sleeping?

Painted nails

We pained Emma's nails today for the first time. She just loved it. I have such a girly girl.

Ooops

Why is it that the mom is responsible for trimming the kids nails? Now that Emma is older and cooperates when I trim her nails I forgot how difficult it can be for a baby. Here is Jackson's first boo boo caused by me. It is amazing how that area around the nail can bleed and bleed and bleed. Surprisingly he didn't cry that much. I still felt awful about it anyways.

I don't think he likes it much.

My husband the photographer...

I love that my husband has a photography degree. His pictures are beautiful. We can set up the studio in our house and take professional studio pictures whenever we want. The only complaint I have is that 1) he doesn't take pictures very often 2) once he takes the pictures it is difficult to get him to take the time to process the digital images 3) convincing him to take the pictures is difficult sometimes. So basically, I take most of the pictures around here. I was able to get Kevin to take some 1 week old pictures of Jackson. Here is some of Kevin's work, although I processed the images myself so they are not as beautiful as they could be I'm sure. We took one of these images to use for our baby announcement too. Enjoy.

Not so cute

This would definately be considered a not very cute stage for Jackson. He has newborn rash pretty bad and scratched his face up!

Hungry Hippo

Ok, this video is slightly disturbing, but so funny. Jackson was so hungry after his bath he didn't care where the milk came from, even if it was from daddy. (Watch Kevin's face in the mirror, it's so funny.)

Daddy's Boy

Wow, I forgot how much hair Jackson had when he was born. I really like this picture of the two men in my life.

Mama Emma

Emma loves her baby brother so much! She calls him "my baby". She always wants to hold him and kiss him. I see lots of colds and runny nose for poor Jackson in the future!

Jackson's One Week Old

Here are some video's of Jackson at about a week old. (Now that he is 3 months old and I'm looking back at these video's I really don't think I appreciated this time in his life as much as I should have. It's amazing how sleep deprivation can make a person so miserable. I just love him so much more now than then, and that makes me sad to say.)

Daddy and Jackson. Jackson is such a frowny child!

Emma's such a little mama.

Jackson just look at me!

Hey mama, what's going on?

Mama and Jackson

If I don't take the pictures of myself with the kids I would never have picture with me in it.
So say "cheese".

Friends

Emma had Katie come over to play today. They both wanted to hold the baby. Katie is the youngest of 3 children and she wouldn't be having a baby brother or sister. So she was very excited to hold the baby. Doesn't Emma look so sweet holding her baby brother, she looks at him so adoringly.

Mema's & Jackson

I think this is Mema's favorite activity.
Happy Mother's Day Mom!
Hope you like your new gift!

Happy Mother's Day to Me

So Mother's Day was 4 days after Jackson was born. I can't believe I now have two children this Mother's Day. Weird. You know what's so weird about it? I've been dreaming of being a mother for as long as I can remember, now it's here and seems so surreal. I've done it, I've been pregnant twice now, and delivered twice now. Crazy, I still can't believe it sometimes.

Kevin was so sweet, he got Emma up this morning and they went down and made me breakfast and brought it up to me in bed. Here is the first picture of our new little foursome family. Not the best picture being that we're exhausted and it's first thing in the morning. I love it anyways because this is my family. Just us, in bed on a Sunday morning. Happy Mother's Day to Me!

Crib

First time Jackson slept in his crib.

(Sorry, there is going to be a lot of "first time" pictures for a while.) =)
