Puzzles

Emma loves doing puzzles. I have several wooden puzzles that she will pull out and work on. Most of them are cheap wooden puzzles covered in lead paint I'm sure. Anyways, she was working on an alphabet puzzle and I was helping her learn her letters. On each of the letters is a picture that starts with that letter, for example a picture of an apple for the letter "A". Well, we were working on the letter "K". So what picture would you expect? A kite or a kitten maybe. No, it is a picture of a knife. A knife! First of all why would they put a picture of a knife on a child's puzzle. Second of all it's a silent k!! I had been asking Emma what each of the pictures were to help her learn the sounds of her letters. So when we got to that one I asked her what the picture was and she paused and said, "ummmm, a cutter." Hehehehe. At least she picked a word that started with the K sound. She is so smart. I just started laughing. It was so cute. I said, "yes baby, it's a cutter."
