Almost walking.

We tricked Emma into walking tonight. I was talking with a friend of mine this weekend who's little girl didn't walk until she was 17mo old. Well, they had a physical therapist come out to the house to help her. And all they had to do was get her to kick a ball and she was off. Well, I decided to give it a try tonight and Emma loved it. We were saying "kick it" and she would repeat "kickic". She toddled around the room kicking the ball. It was so amazing. She got tired after a bit and went back to crawling but we are going to practice tomorrow. Almost there.

My mom watched Emma tonight and Emma took 12 steps while we were out! I missed it, I can't believe it. Mom said that Emma stood up, took three steps then stumbled and did that 4 times. What a big girl she is getting to be.

Emma took 4 steps today all by herself. She stood up took two steps and stumbled, then stood back up and took two more steps. We of course rush off to get the video recorder, but then she refused to do it again! Looks like we're getting close.

"Boobie"

Last week Emma learned a new word, boobie. By the way, it is about to be TMI, read at your own risk. I was naked after my shower and Emma pinched my nipple. I said "boobie". Well, of course she repeated it, but that was the only time. Anyways, today Kevin took her grocery shopping and apparently a 20 something well endowed girl in rather skimpy clothing walked down the aisle and Emma pointed at her and said "Boobie". Luckily Kevin said that the girl didn't hear her, or choose to ignore her I don't know. Well then, Emma said "boobie" like 15 more times while walking down the isle. He was so embarrassed. I of course laughed my butt off while he was telling me that story. That's my girl! =)

Red Wagon

Grandma & Pa pa got Emma a little red wagon. She loves riding in it. We have to hide it when it's not in use otherwise she wants to be in it at all times. It is so cute seeing her giggle.

Swim Lessons

Emma and I are taking a Mommy and Me swim class. She loves the water. Although, she hates to lay back in the water. She screams and cries every time I try. It is so weird, she doesn't mind laying back in the bath tub. We are learning how to blow bubbles, although she just drinks or inhales the water. We are learning how to do what they call "scoops" or stroking the arms. Kicking, floating, and today jumping from the side. Well, since she can't stand it was more like falling from the side, but she actually did it. It is a lot of fun.

70 words

My baby is a genius. She still can't walk, but she is a genius. We went to the Pediatrician yesterday for her 15 mo checkup. Well, two days before the appointement I decided to write down all the words she says. Of course the pronunciation is not correct, ie boop for book. But she only says boop for a book, nothing else. Anyways her Pediatrician said that counted. Well, she knows almost 70 words!!! Yes, that is right 70. Well, her Dr. said that she didn't think she ever had a baby say that much at 15 mo. My guess is that no other parent had sat down and actually written them down, or like my friend Traci, she didn't count a word unless it was pronounced correctly (I told her that it did count.) Did you know the average amount of words is 6, that's it. And that is average! Some don't even say that many at 15 mo old. I couldn't believe it. My baby is a genius. =) The Dr. was very impressed. Overall, the Dr. said she look great and seemed to be a really great baby. I agree!! I am so blessed to have our little Emma. We thank God for her every night.

Spoon?

This morning for breakfast I let Emma use her fork and spoon. I can see this is going to take a lot of practice. She got yogurt everywhere. It would probably be better if I just let her eat naked.

Standing alone.

Emma stood up today all by herself without holding on to anything. She just laughed and giggled, she thought that was the coolest thing to be able to do that. She did it several times after that and laughed just as hard. She should be walking very soon, I just know it.

I can be so cruel. It sure can be fun sometimes. Hey, if we can't make fun of our children, who can we make fun of? Plus, she likes it! hahahaha

Tickle, Tickle, Tickle

Emma has such a sense of humor. She has been tickling me and saying "tickle, tickle, tickle". Or at least trying to say "tickle". It is so cute. Just watch the video. (You can't see her tickling my knee, but she is.)
